New Board, Summertime!

I would like to congratulate all of our new boardmembers who were elected to represent and serve WMLU. I would also like to congratulate those who will be returning. I know that things are going to go fantastically this upcoming year!

Additionally, the station has been closed for the summer. For the rest of the summer, 91.3fm will be rebroadcasting the fantastic WMRA out of Harrisonburg. See you next year!

A Little About WMLU.org

WMLU.org has undergone a lot of changes over the past several years. First, we introduced a new layout, complete with a system for pictures and individual pages for shows. Then, thanks to the efforts of Gerry Martin, we introduced webstreaming. Finally, the website was moved to external servers to better serve our users.

The whole time, Chris Rhoden has been working on a system which made the entire system operate in a way more similar to the individual shows. The new background is to let you know that it has come to frution.

Every aspect of this page is now generated using a SQL database. This means that it will be far easier to put information on the website, and far easier to keep you up to date on what's going on with the station.

We're really glad to have finally implemented this system, we hope that you like it, and we welcome any feedback (positive or negative).

Welcome to the new system running wmlu.org!

Okay, so it doesn't look very different. Actually, it doesn't look different at all.But there is a new system running behind the scenes at wmlu.org that is going to allow some very interesting features to surface. We are making use of a unified PHP framework which makes things much much easier on the system administrators, and we think that's a good thing. So poke around if you like. Things may not seem different, but believe us, they are.
