WMLU 91.3 FM is Longwood University's student-run radio station.

 

The station was founded in 1981 and is located in Farmville, VA.

 

The studio is located in French Hall.

VAB Awards 

Since 2009, WMLU has won Outstanding Sports Coverage for a non-commercial/public radio station every year from the Virgina Association of Broadcasters.

 

In 2010, WMLU won runner up for Best Promotion for a Sponsored Event.

 

In 2011, WMLU won first place for Best Promotion for a Sponsored Event.

Bandfest

Every spring semester, WMLU hosts a day-long music festival, featuring famous bands.

 

Previous bands have included Regina Spektor, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Fray, Immortal Technique, and The Used.

 

Bandfest occurs on the Friday of Longwood University's Spring Weekend event.

 

Bandfest was founded in 1993.
