“Nice Threads” airs weekly on WMLU, 91.3 FM, featuring roots music from around the globe. Hosted and curated by Iain and myriad guests, you’ll hear the best in folk, blues, soul, funk, gospel, traditional jazz, Irish/Scottish, singer-songwriter, Americana, roots-rock, and other sub-genres befitting, celebrating, and representing the ‘music of the people.’
Shows will routinely explore musical ‘thread assessments,’ such as quintessential artists and their influences, regional musical subgenres, celebrated instruments, time-honored festivals, seasonal significances, hybrid genres, and other strands on the great musical web.
Vinyl nights, guest announcers, weekly live music calendars, and in-studio performances figure heavily, as does listener input into the show’s featured topics. And some shows, dubbed “Loose Threads,” let the music play freely without the “Ranger Tour.” It all comes together as a sort of musical weavery, expressing finest cloth from the great global loom of roots music – sharing our human stories and vibes as only music can.
